Experts laud Kwara on implementation of agro processing zone
Kabir Yusuf, the national project coordinator of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) project, has lauded Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State for approving payment of counterpart fund for the implementation of SAPZ Project in the state.
In a letter of appreciation dated 19th April, 2023, Yusuf noted that the express approval of payment for the year 2023 counterpart fund for the implementation of the project ‘is a giant stride towards achieving the Project Development Objective (PDO) of the SAPZ programme in the state’.
Recall that a delegation of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) officials had embarked on first supervision mission to Kwara in respect of the commencement of the project in the state from 27th to 28th of March, 2023.
The project, which will be fully founded by the Islamic Development Bank and the state, is projected to boost agricultural production and economic prosperity of the state.
‘We consider this as a great manifestation of your visionary and purposeful leadership with a unique sense of duty and responsibility in the course of governance’ he noted.
Yusuf assured the governor of continued engagement and technical support of the National Office for the SAPZ Project Implementation Unit (PIU) in Kwara to effectively deliver the promise and prosperity of the project to the people of the state.

In separate statement made available to journalists in Ilorin, Busari Toyin Isiaka, the state project coordinator, Kwara SAPZ Project, applauded Abdulrazaq for showing a lofty sense of commitment to starting the project, noting that the governor’s kind disposition to the project over the years is remarkable and promising.
Busari added that such a kind gesture ‘is a great testimony of the governor’s belief in the agricultural ecosystem as a driver of economic growth, social and financial inclusion’.
He posits that the SAPZ Project is another viable means to enhance agricultural development and create wealth for the people of the state by the Governor Abdulrazaq administration.
